Review of Business in Action

The book is the one that I needed but overall, I am very disappointed. It was listed under "Good" condition and when it came to me, the back over as well as the whole index was torn in half. The book looked like it was a chew toy for a dog. The other books that I ordered came just fine so maybe it was just the seller of this book that falsely advertised that the book was new. But I'm still not happy.

A book that political scientists waited 20 years for...

For decades, political scientists with little math background were introduced to the techniques using books borrowed from economics departments. I myself used Chiang as an undergraduate, then used Binmore and Simon & Blume as a graduate student. When I tried to teach, the selections were not much better: I tried Sydsaeter & Hammond, Klein, and too many books to mention here. With rare exceptions, their examples are drawn from economics and assume the student has the appropriate background knowledge. A heavy burden fell on the instructor to persuade students that the material was relevant to them.

This book has taken away some of that burden with copious "why should I care?" subsections that explain the material's relevance. As the authors explain in their preface, they also sought to strip away some of the bravado that is too typical in math textbooks, removing the "Clearly..." and "Obviously..." meta-discourse.

The book's coverage makes it ideal for a one-semester math class or a summer 'math camp' for students in the typical, empirically-oriented doctoral program in political science. It has sections on univariate and multivariate calculus, probability theory, and matrix algebra. I assigned it for my math class this summer despite having only the table of contents in hand, but after using the book, I'll assign it again (and again, and again...) enthusiastically.

A comprehensive into to the math one needs for advanced stats. I would have rated it higher on substance but think that it was a bit lacking in physical format. So my rating is really 4 1/2 stars.

Thank you once again, Nicole Edwards, for a fun read!

I FINALLY got to read this collection by one of my favorite authors! The holidays can be truly crazy sometimes, even with small families.... but Ms. Edwards books make me feel like one of the family having a birds eye view into these wonderfully warm & supportive relationships, the humor, the sexiness. It was so much fun looking in on previous Series' hero/heroines that I loved when I first read about them. I just loved them all!!

Just as amazing as I hoped it would be!

Because Naughty Holidays Can Be Oh So Nice 2015 is a treat for all Nicole Edwards fans! In this holiday special we get three short novellas featuring characters from three different series by this author. In July 2015 Ms. Edwards had readers vote regarding who they would like to see in a holiday novella and she picked the top three. If you know anything about this author you know that she tends to write about copious amounts of sexual variations (MF/MFM/MM, etc.) and you also know that her books are HOT AS **** as we watch each of the characters Ms. Edwards creates succumb to passion and love. I am certainly a huge fan and getting to revisit some of my favorite characters who have blissfully settled into their happy forever made this read such a holiday treat! This book had me gleefully jumping for joy and it turned out to be just as amazing as I was hoping it would be.

Nicole Edwards provides her reader with a plethora of emotional and sizzling hot moments in three separate novellas – one focusing on Travis, Gage and Kylie from Alluring Indulgence, another on RT and Z from Sniper 1 Security and with the final one being about Luke, Cole and Sierra from Club Destiny. Each novella takes place during the holiday season and were definitely a lot of fun to read with some laugh-out-loud scenes and some beautifully tender moments between the characters who are featured. And, as we have all come to expect from this author, we get some nuclear hot and kinky times that will leave you panting. Seriously, Nicole Edwards knows how to write erotica. Damn! We also get some special family time and it was awesome to see the Walker clan happily co-existing and getting into all sorts of trouble. It was also nice to catch up with the Sniper 1 family and the Club Destiny family.

I truly loved this book and it was such a treat. Because Naughty Holidays Can Be Oh So Nice 2015 was simply a wonderful holiday read that had me smiling enthusiastically and definitely had me seeking out my fan in the middle of winter. Say what? Yes, as I have explained, Nicole Edwards....hot scenes....panting.....um....you get the picture. I should note that I live in Canada and it is COLD here so the fact that I got a little….er…heated….. Well, you get the picture. I simply can’t get enough of anything and everything written by this author and am always anxiously awaiting her next book release.

Read this book if you are a fan of Nicole Edwards. I loved it!

These holiday stories are a mix of laugh out loud fun and super hot & sexy.

Thank you, Nicole Edwards for giving us these fun holiday stories. I LOVED getting back in touch with some of the characters I fell in love with in Previous stories. I spent Thanksgiving with Travis, Kylie and Gage, preparing for Christmas with all of the Walker family. I enjoyed a sweet and thoughtful Christmas with RT and Z and an awesome New Years celebration with Luke Sierra and Cole. Who could ask for better holiday celebrations than that?
These stories were fun and sexy and had me smiling from ear to ear. I was laughing out loud reading the playful holiday competitions. But the heat was most definitely on for the holidays because in true Nicole Edwards fashion, these characters are scorchingly romantic!
Fun, Hot and sexy...a must read for all NE fans!

No Complicated Maths Here

I highly recommend this material. It helped me found my footing early in my career as a process engineer! I have invested quite a bit in Norman Lieberman material and they are full of anecdote (owing to extensive years he has spent in the industry) that you can relate with as a process engineer. Even though I like complicated math, I found the simplicity of the mathematics in the materials helps to focus on logic of the problem solving process rather than just crunching equations.

As a long time mentor for new teachers, I have read many books for teachers new to the classroom. There are a lot of books out there that focus on everything but teaching. This book is all about helping teachers with great teaching strategies that they can use throughout their entire career. New teachers can try a new strategy every day. I am now buying this book for all of my new teachers!

A great resource for any teacher!

My school district gave every new teacher a copy of this book. The new teacher that I am mentoring shared it with me. After reading through it I was excited to find a book that focuses on instruction instead of some silver-bullet discipline plan. The instructional strategies are written clearly and consisely. Both of us bring our copies of Why Didn't I Learn This in College? and use them as we plan our units and lessons every Monday for the following week. I highly recommend this book to any teacher.

Brilliant grasp of my equations!

The author truly has mastered my equations and displays practical application of them to real world situations. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! Field calculations and microstrip design can sometimes be a little dry, but the author makes it not only interesting, but fun as well. I would like to see him branch out into solving world peace and time travel next, as he seems well equipped to tackle those subjects after this etraordinary work. I wish I could give 6 stars.
