I want my money back

I ordered this study guide because I was having a difficult time in my Med Surg class. The textbook doesn't really contain a lot of practice questions so I wanted to get this study guide to help me study for our exams. While it is filled with lots of questions, the answer key is wrong quite a bit. I don't have time to constantly double check and make sure that the answer key is correct.

Until there is an update, with a correct answer key, I would NOT recommend this book to anyone!

I purchased this Clinical Decision-Making Study Guide for Medical Surgical Nursing, School Book for my Daughter that is going to Nursing School.The Book itself is very well made and easy to read. She was also able to save money on her School books by purchasing them through Amazon.Because I am a Amazon Prime member I was able to save her some extra money on the shipping costs by ordering this book for her. The book came in in excellent shape and was packaged very well. Just like any other learning program they are required to purchase several School Books and if we can save any money on these items we will do what it takes to do so. She was Very Satisfied with the Quality and the Service she received. The Book came in just a couple of days after she turned in the order. Really good study tool

Really good study tool! Narrowed down the important topics and kept us on track. Even made studying enjoyable (sometimes). Loses a star due to the emotional toll of nursing school. Seeing this cover makes me shudder just a little bit. But, overall, I would recommend buying this study guide if it coincides with your textbook. Heck, I may just go through it for funzies someday. :)

About the Author

Evelyn Tribole, MS, RDN, is an award-winning registered dietitian with a nutrition counseling practice in Newport Beach, CA, specializing in eating disorders. She also trains health professionals on how to help their clients cultivate a healthy relationship with food, mind, and body through the process of Intuitive Eating, a concept she co-pioneered. Tribole is author of several books, including Healthy Homestyle Cooking, and is coauthor of Intuitive Eating. She was the nutrition expert for Good Morning America, and was a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for six years. She served three years on the Social Media committee of the Academy for Eating Disorders. Tribole is often sought after by the media for her nutritional expertise, and has appeared in hundreds of interviews, including CNN, NBC’s Today Show, MSNBC, Fox News, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and People magazine. She also gives presentations around the world on intuitive eating.

Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, is a nutrition therapist in private practice in Beverly Hills, CA, with over thirty-five years of experience, specializing in eating disorders, intuitive eating, and health at every size. She is coauthor of Intuitive Eating, has published journal articles, and does regular speaking engagements and extensive media interviews. Foreword writer Tracy Tylka, PhD, is professor of psychology at the Columbus and Marion campuses of The Ohio State University. Good, not great

With winter fully upon us now, who wouldn't want to read a book set in a tropical paradise? The cover alone had me feeling a bit warmer as I snuggled under three blankets to read Aloha Rose! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Hawaii through Lisa Carter's eyes. She made the islands come alive with her use of Hawaiian words, traditions, and culture. While I didn't initially like Laney or Kai very much (they were a little hard to connect with), I eventually liked them a lot. As their "issues" came to light and explained their actions, I understood them better and really rooted for them to overcome their pasts.

As much as I wanted to love this book, I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the read, but there were several flaws that kept it from being great (for me). The romance moved really fast. The beginning of the romantic relationship between Laney and Kai came out of left field and then stopped and started a lot. It was just confusing. The end came together really quickly—too quickly. There was a ton going on throughout the book. For 240 pages, I felt like it was too much. And the end had a really intense arc that just didn't mesh with the rest of the book. Finally, there were many places throughout where the phrasing was ... odd. I caught myself reading and re-reading whole paragraphs trying to make sure I understood what was being said. It was just confusing.

If you're looking for a quick read or a romantic story, you might enjoy this book. Especially if you're looking for an armchair vacation to Hawaii! [3 stars]

Inspiring Hawaiian Romance

Take a trip to the Islands and enjoy a relaxing read! Lisa Carter did a great job capturing the Aloha spirit and Hawaiian customs and weaving them into this touching romance. Both the hero and heroine tugged at my heart and drew me into their lives. I felt like cheering for both of them and wanted them to find the love and healing they were seeking. I recommend this book to all who enjoy contemporary romances set in beautiful locations.

A Hawaiian Love Story, perfect for these dreary winter days!

A love story with a little bit of mystery and it's set in Hawaii? I think yes!

Laney Carrigan has always wondered about her birth mother. After being adopted as a small infant, the only clue she had about her birth mother was a handmade quilt that the Carrigan's found her with on their doorstep. After Laney's adoptive mother died and her adoptive father remarried, her father urged her to find out more about her past. They searched online to no avail, until her father decided to include a picture of her baby quilt. Within 24 hours, they had a response. Her birth family was in Hawaii.

Within weeks, Laney flew out to meet her family. She met her Aunt Teah, Cousin Elyse, her Tutu (Grandma) Mily and a handsome cowboy named Kai who was adopted by Teah. She was disappointed to find that her mother was not alive. Not that she missed her, but that she had some choice words for her. But there was something that Auntie Teah was keeping from her. What could it be?

Laney forms a quick bond with Kai as they both seem to be struggling with the same things. But can he surrender his past in order to make way for the future? A future with Laney? Laney doesn't know.

I found Aloha Rose to be a fun quick read! It definitely kept my interest...I read through it in only 2 days! In some spots at the beginning of the book I found it a little hard to follow. It was when the author was still introducing the characters, which were quite a few. So I got mixed up a few times, but after a few chapters I got the hang of it. I also thought it was fun how the author introduced a bunch of Hawaiian lingo into the book. I think this definitely gave the book some character and I loved it! There was also a glossery in the back of the book explaining what each Hawaiian word meant.

About the Author
Mary Zimmerman is a professor of performance studies at Northwestern University. In 1998, she was the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, and in 2002, she won the Tony Award for Best Director. She has adapted-directed Metamorphoses, The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci, The Odyssey, The Arabian Nights, Eleven Rooms of Proust, and Journey to the West. Mostly recently she directed and wrote the libretto for Galileo Galilee, the new opera by Philip Glass, which premiered at the Goodman Theatre.

An excellent piece for educational theatre

I am a theatre teacher and have read several (read around 100) plays looking for a play that 1)has several significant female roles, 2) has literary merit, 3)has a story with some heart 4)has humor and 5)will stretch my actors in ways they have not worked before. Mary Zimmerman's THE ARABIAN NIGHTS has all that and more. It really is a fantastic piece built around the tale of The Arabian Nights but using stories that are not overtold. Every time I read this script I discover more and more to it. Although it has some clever notes from the original production of this play, there is PLENTY of room for new creation including an improvisational idea for a portion of the script and an allusion to modern day Iraq at the end of the play. I hope we are able to secure the rights to do this show because I am looking forward to directing this play with my students. Even if you don't produce the play, it is well worth reading.

The Arabian Nights by Mary Zimmerman

Mary Zimmerman is the writer and director of the stage play The Arabian Nights: A Play. Her creative technique is to deeply research a subject, often ancient writings or even drawings, and then to work collaboratively with her cast and designers to find the best ways to dramatize the material, creating a scrip as she moves along.

She was awarded a genius grant and well deserves it.

The resultant play, in this case, is poetic, beautiful, surprising and altogether wonderful.

A Jewel For Senses, If Only It Could Last 1000 Nights

The Arabian Nights by Mary Zimmer was one of those life's moments, that truly amazed me and opened my perception of live performance. Performed by the Manhatten Theatre Company in Mud-Town New York, the evening was a tapestry of sight and a delicacy of sound, for the author'a words were scintillating. This should be a modern classic, a precursor to her wonderous Metamorphoses, which I also had the opportunity to see in New York.

You wish for more information with some saints, but good reference overall

Our Sunday Visitor's Encyclopedia of Saints is the second edition of this massive tome. The first edition was published in 1998, so it was overdue for another edition, especially since Pope John Paul II canonized many saints during his reign as pope. The editors for this book are Matthew and Margaret Bunson. You might recognize these names as they were also the editors for the Encyclopedia of U.S. Catholic History. The book's tagline says, "From Aaron to Zygmunt and 10,000 in between - her are the 'holy ones' of the Church!" This tagline made me immediately turn to the end to read about St. Zygmunt. He was a "Ukrainian priest and founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph." He was beatified by Pope John Paul II and canonized by Pope Benedict XVI with his feast day on January 1st. How blessed for him to share a feast day with Mary, Mother of God.

Disclaimer: I did not read all 1,000+ pages of this encyclopedia. I read up on my favorite saints, did a lot of browsing/letting the book fall open and reading about a random saint. As this is a reference book, there is no right or wrong way to read it. I will tell you about some of my observations, though. Most saints received a few lines in the book. Some received a few paragraphs. Fewer received full pages. Those who received full pages would be considered "superstar" saints. As an example, Saint Pope John Paul II received slightly more than a full page. Early saints like St. Joseph or St. Mark the Evangelist received two paragraphs. I understand that space in this issue is at a premium; that more is known about recent saints than early saints; and that people tend to gravitate to the "superstar" saints. However, it would have been nice to see important saints get more words than they did or mentioned at all. For example, St. Augustine of Hippo received just over two pages of material. This was equal to the total space (pictures excluded) of the three Cappadocian Fathers (Sts. Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and Gregory of Nyssa).

Overall, this was a solid work. I was pleased that included both Saints and Blesseds in it. I also found the twelve (yes twelve) appendices extremely helpful. Just a few of the appendices are a glossary, list of U.S. martyrs, list of patron saints, and a list of Doctors of the Church. There was also a helpful introduction/history on the process of canonization. Was this book perfect? No, but it never will be. For starters, there will always be people, like myself, nitpicking entries and saying that they wish St. X had received more information and St. Y had received less information. However, if there was as much information printed as available, we'd need a 26 volume Encyclopedia of Saints! Also, there are new saints added every year. This book did include two of our newest saints, Popes John XXIII and John Paul II, but we could have new Saints and Blesseds next year that would then be missing from this book. You must do what I did, though, and appreciate the book for what it is. This is a well-researched, jam-packed tome for learning more about the saints in general and specific saints. Use this as a starting point for learning the basics about a particular saint, then dive deeper in your studies with primary sources and works written by them or about them to learn even more. This is a must-have book for every religion teacher, homeschooling mom, or lover of the saints!

A Complete Presentation of Catholic Saints

The Bunson magic continues. This meticulously delivered tome provides you with everything you wanted and needed to know about all the Saints through those canonized by Pope Benedict 16. Spellings, dates, significance etc etc provided. A thorough interesting presentation!

Lots of info as close to all inclusive as one is likely to get

I received my copy yesterday. After a quick look through I can say this is very comprehensive of both Saints and many Blesseds. There are also many Roman Catholic Church documents included for reference which is helpful. I can't think of a more up to date (it includes John Paul II and John XXIII) and nearly exhaustive resource for Saints and their stories.

I can also say that the publisher (OSV) is exceptionally responsive. I had a problem finding a particular Saint, left a comment on their website, and within a matter of hours had a response and where to find the Saint in the book. Great all around.

this a better told story than Sienna and the Girl in the ...

To me, this a better told story than Sienna and the Girl in the Box Series, at least for the four I've read in this series compared to the three in that one. The Sanctuary Series reads like a massively multiplayer online game, which focuses primarily on one guild. To anyone who has played an MMO, the story will be familiar. I'm not sure if any author has tried this format and it was refreshing. You have a Good guild, an Evil Guild and a bunch of smaller guilds that interweave through the tales. There is a kinda lame romance tale thrown in too, though the author is horrible at it. The protagonist Superman (Cyrus) has multiple relationships and he sucks at all of them. The first one is the only one that even has a microbe's chance of being interesting. The battles are very will written when the author focuses on guild raids and very dull once he branches out to military campaigns. There is a lot of dead writing where the same things happen over and over. This will not be as noticeable if you read the books over several weeks. I read all seven books over a three day weekend. Yes, I'm lame.

Not as good as the first three but still interesting.

Interesting addition to the series. I read the first three back to back and wanted more. The only thing I don't like is the "Now" and "5 years ago.." stuff. Even if you follow a long all the books, it takes forever to figure out what is going on "Now". This series reads like a D&D adventure, lots of action with other interesting things thrown in. I will say this book was the least satisfying. The author has dragged out the so called romance between the two main parties forever. Overall still a good read but it seems he is struggling to find a story line here that works, at least compared to the other books.

All in all still entertaining, now I need to get the remaining books and see what happens...
